Al Kharid City Guide

By EazyWillie, and MrStormy

The dusty desert town of Al Kharid is home to many shop workers and locals in need of help.

As you walk in from Lumbridge through the toll gate, the first thing you will see is a market stall owned by a friendly gem trader and a gnome pilot (map location 1). If you have completed the Grand Tree quest you can use the glider to go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Just a little Southeast is a building containing a range (map location 2). On the east of the house is another market stall owned by a silk trader . To the east of him is a building containing a table (map location 3). A bit south and southeast of this building are two other buildings, one containing a sink (map location 4) and the other containing a table, chair, and boot respawn (map location 5).

To the west of the house with the boot respawn is a store with Zeke, a salesmen in the business of selling scimitars . He sells every scimitar up to mithril. In the upstairs compartment of Zekes store is a table, chair and a body rune respawn.

To the West of Zekes shop, there are three buildings almost parallel to each other.

The building furthest North is the home of the tanner , where you can, for 1 coin, exchange a cow hide for leather.

The next building to the south of this contains a furnace , for smelting whatever ore you like.

The third house furthest south contains a range and the Kebab seller where you can buy meaty Kebabs.

To the south of this is the Bank of Runescape , where you can store all of your precious belongings.

Now, as you go East past Zekes scimitar shop and the house with the sink, you come to a jumble of shops. The one a little south and directly East of Zekes is the General store . The upstairs of the general store contains a bed ..ZzZZ..ZzZz…

Northeast of the General Store is Dommik, the craftsmen . He will sell you all your crafting needs, ammy, ring, and symbol moulds, needles and thread, and chisels.

Now, directly South, right next to the general store is the home of Louie Legs . He sells legs all the way up to Adamantite.

Directly South of Louie is Ranael. She sells armored skirts all the up to Adamantite.

In direct center of all these shops and such is the Al Kharid palace, the home of the Prince who is missing by the way? To save the beloved Prince Ali, go to the runevillage quest guides to complete the Prince Ali Rescue quest !. Once you complete this quest you can pass through the toll gate for free. Anyway, the palace is U shaped with two compartments on each side containing beds and a compartment in the middle joining the two sides. In the center of the U shape are two fountains. This is a great place to train if you are a low level because the palace is swarming with level eighteen guards. Also on the southwest side of the palace are two tables that have a cabbage and a jug respawn (map location 6).

Southeast of the Palace is a building containing a range and a nasty ol’ level twenty-five witch with warts and a bronze mace respawn (map location 7)!

Southwest of that house is the entrance to the Al Kharid desert. There are level thirty-two pass guards, a bank chest, General Store Mechants, and Shantay himself. Before entering the desert, fill up on water sacks and get some desert clothes. As you walk through, you will see a troubled Mother. Talk to her and this starts the Tourist Trap quest !

Also, directly North of the silk trader, about half way to Varrock is the Scorpion Pit mine. This mine is protected by fast respawning scorpions and that is how it got it's nickname.

It is a good mine if you can survive the attacks. The mine contains two copper, one tin, four iron, two silver, two coal, one gold, one mithril, and one adamitite rock. 3 Fire and 4 Water runes also repsawn in this mine. It also has a few undefined rocks.

Now that you know the town of Al Kharid, explore the town and have fun!
