| By MrStormy, and DevilsKin Ardounge, is undoubtedly the most popular place for thieves, beginners and experts alike. With its many stalls to steal from, inhabitants to pickpocket and chests to loot you wouldn't want to go anywhere else to refine your thieving skills.
Looking over the city from one end to the other, this city guide is telling you all you need to know about “Thief Central”. An amazing 6 quests begin within Ardounge. These are Plague City,
Biohazard, Temple of Ikov, Hazeel Cult, Sheep Herder and Underground
Pass. Another 3 begin within the near vacintity of Ardounge - Sea
Slug, Clock Tower and Monks Friend. Point at the Next we come to the Market Square, the heart of Ardounge and a thieves haven. The following stalls are scattered around the square: Gem stall, cake stall, spice stall, silver stall, fur stall and silk trader. The stall that most people steal from is the cake stall but fur is definitely second choice. If you fail to steal an item, the stall owner will either tell you off or a corresponding guard will come and attack you. The higher level the stall, the higher level that attacks you. For example, only a guard will attack you at the cake stall, but at the fur stall a paladin (level 71) may go for you. As well as the stalls to thieve from, you can also pickpocket, the warrior at the top right, or the guards, knights, paladins and (if your really good) heroes. North of the Market Square, is a blue-floored building, this is Wizard
Cromperty’s house. He will use his teleporting block to send
you to Lord Handelmort’s mansion. A hammer and chisel respawn
here and upstairs is a bed Still further North West of Wizard Cromperty’s house is a house
with 2 beds If you turn Left (South) once you get to market square, you will
find an Armour Conversion shop If you head a little further south you will find a bank Behind the bank, you will find the RPDT depot (1) and an empty (MT) building. The RPDT depot is used in the Tribal Totem Quest. If you keep heading west from the bank you will come to the Zoo
entrance, there is a manhole, go down to the Just by the manhole is a little house (2) with a tourist guide, this is for the Tribal Totem Quest. You will need to complete the quest to gain access to the huge mansion (3) owned by Lord Handelmort where you can train on guard dogs. The Zoo is a great place to train up your magic and ranged skills because of the fenced-up animals. There is a level 20 zookeeper, level 24 bears, camels, level 21 scorpions, and a level 64 grey wolf. This is also where you teleport too when you use the level 51 Ardougne Teleport spell. Next stop heading further West is the General Store Heading West further we come to a bridge, but we will cross that bridge in a second, for now let's take a look at what is along the road heading north from the General Store. Up at the top, just outside the fence, is a log certificate trader
Beneath him is a building with a black and grey striped floor which
is a bank Just South of the bank is a 2 story building with a locked door
Just under the chest house is a house with a bird keeper named Jerico who has messenger pigeons in his back garden and bird feed in his cupboard. This is for the Biohazard quest. His house also has a sink. Under Jerico’s house is a church with Dr Orbon who will give you protective clothing for 100gp to use in Sheep Herder quest. There is also an altar to restore your prayer points. Next to the church is a furnace, so if you have some ores, you know where to go! Now that we have looked at the main part of Ardounge lets head over the bridge and see what greets you. As you cross the bridge you see King Lathas castle (Octagon with black and white floor), who you talk to to complete the Biohazard Quest and will start the UnderGround Pass Quest. There is also a bed to rest on and at the castle and there are thieving facilities for almost all higher levels. For level 25 and above there are level 27 warriors to pickpocket. For the higher levels there are level 71 paladins and level 56 knights. On the top floor is a door to pick lock (level 67 required to pick) and in the locked room are lots of paladins and chests. North of the castle is a building (6) containing a pottery oven and pottery wheel. South West of the castle you will find the Carillean house (building with red floor). There is a sink in the basement, fireplace (can be used to cook on) on the first floor, and beds upstairs. This is alos where you start the Hazeel Cult Quest. South of the Carillean house, is a purple dye respawn and across the bridge a bucket respawns and there is a well. You will also find Brother Cedric and a dungeon that are part of the Monks Friend Quest. This quest is started in the building on the far south of the map that has a red floor with blue spots. This building contains an Alter, Brother Omad, and a lite candle respawns there. NorthEast of Brother Omad, you will find a level 32 necromancer and a bed upstairs. NorthWest of the Necromancer you will see the Clock Tower, where you will find Brother Kojo who will start the Clock Tower Quest. There is a sink here. Below the clock tower is tunnels that lead to an underground are behind the zoo. You can also get to this area from ladders (5) behind the zoo. This is a good area for range and magic because there is cages containing a level 8 rat, a level 2 rat, a level 7 goblin, a level 21 skeleton, a level 36 Deadly Red Spider, a few level 2 spiders and a level 31 giant Spider. You will also find Grandpa Jack here who will tell you stories. He was once upon a time the fishing champ. Now back where we left off across the bridge, North of the Carillean house you come to a little building (7) with a lever inside. This level will teleport you deep into the wilderness to the Teleport House. Just North of this is the gate to West Ardougne. If you have completed the Biohazrd quest you can walk right in, but if you haven't you will have to find another way in. North of the Gate is the Flying Horse Pub. You will find Lucien here or in the vincinity. Lucien will start the Temple of Ikov Quest. Across from the pub and North of the empty (MT) building is a building with a fireplace (which can be used for cooking) and a bed upstairs. North of that is Elana's house, it contains a bed and a sink. Elana will start the Biohazard Quest. North of the Pub is the home of Edmond and Arlena. A picture and a spade respawn here. This is the start of the Plague City Quest. North of Edmond and Arlena is an empty building. This is where you teleport to from the Blood Rune Chest in the dungeon Chaos Druid Tower (9) Just North outside the little opening in the wall you will find a locked building (9), Level 46 thieving required to pick the lock, with four Chaos Druids that drop lots of herbs for those working on herblaw, as well as vials and a few runes from now and then. If you delve down the ladder, a pair of chests are guarded by half a dozen angry Ogres. The chests are a delightful treat for the skilled thief though. Inside are a pair of Blood runes, 500 gold, and a side helping of 250 experience. The do have a downside (besides the Ogres), there is a secondary trap on them that teleports you out to a house by Elena. This can be a mixed blessing, depending on how well you are doing in combat at the moment. Don't rely on them for a hasty get away, there is a 3 minute refresh on the chests, and even though there are a pair to choose from, their popularity and the danger of having an Ogre jump on you does not make them reliable. I hope that this guide has given you a better understanding of Ardounge
and happy thieving!
