Varrock is probably the most popular place in Runescape’s free Worlds as many People come here to merchant and sell Items. Varrock has a lot to offer, including a wide range of Shops, from a General Store to specialty Stores selling Swords, Staffs, Archery Equipment, and Runes.
- General Store
This Shop is great for selling Items which cannot be sold to Players or specialty Shops.
You can sell most anything in this Shop, as well as buy basic Equipment.
The General Store always contains Shears, Tinderboxes, Bronze Axes, Sleeping Bags and anything else sold to it by other Players.
- Sword Shop
This Shop, located South of Central Varrock, is full of Swords varying from Daggers to Long Swords.
You can buy pretty much any Sword in this Shop except for Two-Handed Swords that must be smithed by Players or bought on Members’ Worlds. You can buy Swords of any Metal except for Rune.

- Rune/Magic Shop
This Shop is very handy for buying Runes that are essential for Magic. The Shop sells different varieties of Runes including Fire, Earth, Mind, Water, and Air Runes at a very low price, varying from 3-7 Gold Pieces each.
This Shop is located behind the East Bank hidden between other Houses and Shops.
- Horvik The Smith
Horvik runs the Anvils in Eastern Varrock. If you approach him he will offer to show you the Armor he buys and sells. You can sell most Armor to him at specialty Shop prices.
You may also use his Anvils for free. These are very close to a Bank making them some of the best Anvils in Runescape.
- Zaff's Staff Shop
Zaff’s Shop, located just to the West of Varrock’s center, sells Staffs used for Magic.

These are the prices for the Staffs that Zaff sells in his Shop just located off central Varrock to the West.
Each Staff has different advantages such as the Air Staff lets you use it without even the Air Runes so you only need the Staff when that particular Rune is needed.
- Lowe's Archery Store
This is a great place to buy Items for Ranging. Lowe sells Bronze Arrows, Crossbow Bolts, Long and Short Bows, and Crossbows. The price of Bronze Arrows range from 3-7 Gold Pieces depending on how many Arrows Lowe has in stock. The price of Crossbow Bolts ranges from 3-10 Gold Pieces, also depending on stock.
- East and West Varrock Bank
Every useful Town needs a Bank, and Varrock has two. They are located on either side of the Town near the East and West Entrances. Depending on what you are doing, you may find either Bank to be the more convenient one.
