When accessing Al Kharid there are two Entrances. One is free and the other one costs ten Gold Pieces for every time you either enter or exit. The free Entrance is from the north, near Varrock. As you travel south, you will pass a Mining Pit. Be careful not to enter the Scorpion Pit Mine especially if you are a low Level, as you may get attacked and killed. You pass this Mining spot on your way to Al Kharid; it contains Silver, Adamantite, Mithril, Gold, Coal, Tin, Copper and Iron Ore Rocks.

As you continue walking south, you will eventually reach the city of Al Kharid.
  1. A more direct route to Al Kharid is through the Gate east of Lumbridge. This will cost ten Gold Pieces each time you pass through it, but you may then follow the Path to Al Kharid. Once you have completed the Prince Ali Rescue Quest you will be able to pass through the Gate for free.

  2. If you head east after you pass the Gate, you will arrive at the Duel Arena Entrance, a Member's Minigame where you may fight one on one, for fun or profit.

  3. The first Service you may come across is the Gnome Airlines; a Member’s only feature. You can use these Airlines once you have completed the Grand Tree Quest. These Airlines can take you to such places as Karamja Jungle, Al Kharid, The Digsite, Ogre Swamps, White Wolf Mountain and the Grand Tree.

  4. Right next to the Glider is a Gem Stall, one of the few in RuneScape.

  5. There is a usual house a little southeast from the Gem Stall, with a Range and a Level 2 Man.

  6. If you go east from the house, you will meet Ali Morrisane. You can start the quest The Feud by talking to him, as well as buy items from his Discount Store.

  13. There is also a Fishing Spot with a lonely but aggressive Scorpion, south of the Bank. It is not recommended to fish there unless you are above Level 30.

  14. In the house south from the Furnace, is the Kebab Seller. Those tasty Kebabs are only one Gold Piece each.

  20. The Al Kharid Palace has many different features.

The Palace is filled with Palace Guards who are medium Leveled and anyone who has a Character Leveled around 20 could easily take one down. Great for training on, but beware this is a Multi-Combat Zone and you are attacked by several Guards at once.

This is also where you start and finish the Prince Ali Rescue Quest by talking to Hassan.

  21. The Bank of Al Kharid is like any other in Runescape. Deposit or withdraw your items or Gold Pieces from one of the open Booths.

  22. Right to the south of Al Kharid is the Shantay Pass which only Members can pass through. At the Entrance to the Pass you can access a Bank, start a Member’s Quest and go shopping in a General Store which mostly contains Desert survival equipment.
