Introduction

Lumbridge is a very peaceful city that welcomes newcomers to RuneScape. It offers many helpful and pleasant figures, ranging from the royal Duke Horacio to the kind Lumbridge Guides, as well as tons of activities to keep you busy in the town of Lumbridge. The only people to be wary about are the Goblins found along the riverside, but if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone, but if necessary you can cleave them with your mighty sword.

This city also has an exquisite castle, church, and many other eye-pleasing attractions that will be explored throughout this Guide. And for those adventurous players constantly filling their inventory, there is a bank conveniently located at the top of Lumbridge Castle.

From miner, to adventurer, to fisher, there is something in Lumbridge for everyone!

Location and Attractions

Lumbridge is very, very easy to find - perhaps one of the easiest towns to find in all of RuneScape! When you first step foot on RuneScape, your feet will find themselves on Lumbridge's earth. Or (unless you've specified otherwise) when you die you will relocate to Lumbridge once more. It is found south of Varrock, east of Draynor Village, west of Al-Kharid, and north of the sodden, fearsome Lumbridge Swamps and the Lost City of Zanaris.

Lumbridge Castle
One of Lumbridge's most popular attractions is its Castle - located in Lumbridge's dead center - boasting many helpful and convenient features and figures.

The basement can be accessed through a ladder in the Cook's room. For members the basement offers access to the Lumbridge Caves and a Bank (Culinaromancers' Chest), but for free players it still offers many re-spawns, such as: a Cabbage, a Knife, Jug, Bucket, Leather Boots, and a sink.

The first floor has a special range that can be used after completion of the Cook's Assistant quest. This range increases the chances of successfully cooking your food.

The second floor has a very popular spinning wheel, and many men to pillage for loot. In Duke Horacio's room you can start the Rune Mysteries Quest and the Lost Tribe Quest.

The third and final floor has only one feature, but it's a very helpful feature - a bank!

Sheep Farm
North of Lumbridge Castle and the General Store a Sheep Pen can be found. If you have a pair of Shears, you can shear the Sheep and receive Wool. You can spin it into balls of Wool for Crafting Experience, or sell it for Gold Pieces.

Furnace
Northeast of the General Store is Lumbridge's only Furnace. It is located slightly too far from the bank to be useful, but it still offers a place to smelt your ore nonetheless.

Fishing
Lumbridge has several areas where you can fish, one being east of the Church, two being along the shoreline by the Furnace. All places harbour Trout and Salmon, requiring a Fly Fishing Rod and Feathers.. If you wish to bank the Fish, the closest bank would be at the top of Lumbridge Castle.

Tutor Building
This building contains the following popular Tutors: the Ranged Tutor, the Magic Tutor, and the Melee Tutor. They offer training items and places to train on.

General Store
For information on the General Store, please see our future Shop Database Entry.

Canoes
By the Goblins you can find Barfy Bill who can tell you about canoeing. Alternatively, you can chop down the tree and sail all too various places in RuneScape.

Church
Lumbridge has a brilliant church where you can talk to Father Aereck or simply charge your Prayer Points.

Cemetery
Behind the church is a cemetery with a few graves. Here, you can also start the Restless Ghost Quest in the small shack.

Bob's Axes
For information on Bob's Axes, please see our Shop Database Entry.

Lumbridge Swamps
The Lumbridge Swamp is a remarkably large, sodden and frightening area! It contains many, many Rats, an entrance to the Lost City of Zanaris, the Runecrafting Temple of Water, Swamp Tar respawns, and an alternative entrance to the Lumbridge Caves.

And wait - that's not all! It also has two helpful mines. Both mines are located along the south shore of the swamps. One is located on the eastern end, closer to Lumbridge and contains the Mining Tutor. While the other is on the western end, closer to Draynor Village.
