Welcome to Miscellania and Etceteria!

These two islands split from the Fremennik province years ago. They are only accessible through completion of the Fremennik Trials Quest.

Travel to the islands is by boat from the Fremennik Docks. The Fremennik Docks are located in the colony of Rellekka; the Viking colony is north of Seers' Village and past the Sinclair Mansion. The captain is located on the middle dock of the north shore's docks. Ask him for a ride, and he will gladly take you over to the Miscellania Docks.

Welcome to the islands! Let me show you around a bit...

Miscellania

  1. Welcome to the Miscellania Market! It has a small supply of greens and fish. You can steal from the shopkeepers, but it's easy to be caught. I wouldn't recommend slaying either island's inhabitants as it lowers your approval rating.

    - Island Greengrocer -

    Cabbage Potato Onion Tomato Garlic
1 Gold Pieces 1 Gold Pieces 3 Gold Pieces 4 Gold Pieces 3 Gold Pieces

    - Island Fishmonger -

Small Fishing Net Fishing Rod Fly Fishing Rod Harpoon Lobster Pot Fishing Bait Feather Big Fishing Net
6 Gold Pieces 6 Gold Pieces 6 Gold Pieces 6 Gold Pieces 26 Gold Pieces 3 Gold Pieces 2 Gold Pieces 26 Gold Pieces
Shrimp Sardine Herring Mackerel Cod Anchovies Trout Pike
6 Gold Pieces 13 Gold Pieces 19 Gold Pieces 22 Gold Pieces 32 Gold Pieces 19 Gold Pieces 26 Gold Pieces 32 Gold Pieces
Salmon Tuna Lobster Bass Swordfish Shark
60 Gold Pieces 127 Gold Pieces 127 Gold Pieces 156 Gold Pieces 260 Gold Pieces 390 Gold Pieces

  2. This is the Castle of Miscellania. King Vargas, who is unfortunately unable to rule his kingdom due to an accident, can be found upstairs. Speak to him to start the Throne of Miscellania Quest. His son and daughter, the Prince and Princess of Miscellania, are also located here and play a role in the Throne of Miscellania Quest. The king's advisor, Advisor Ghrim, is also here to aid you in ruling Miscellania after completion of the quest.

  3. The Miscellania Mines. Eight of the fastest spawning Coal rocks in the game can be found here. However, you cannot keep the Coal you mine here. Miner Magnus, head of the mines, takes your Coal, and in return you gain a higher approval rating in the islands.

  4. The forest of Miscellania. A myriad of Maple trees await you here! However, like in the mines, wood chopped here is automatically given to the chief and only lumberjack on the islands, Lumberjack Leif. Chopping wood here raises your approval rating.

  5. No city is complete without a farm and Farmers to get in your way. Here you can pick Cabbage, Grain, and Potatoes. You can keep them, but you do not gain or lose approval by picking them.

  6. Herb patches! By obtaining a Rake from Gardener Gunnhild for fifteen Gold Pieces, you can help her weed the patches and collect herbs for her. Your approval rating increases for every herb you weed.

  7. Fishing spot and Miscellania Dock. Help Fisherman Frodi catch Lobsters and you will improve your approval rating. You do not get to keep the fish collected here. Your ride home is also located here. When finished with your excursion here, talk to the Sailor and he will gladly give you a ride home.

Etceteria

  1. This is the Etceteria Market. It has the usual supply of vegetables and fishes. You can also steal from the shopkeepers, although in such a small area you're liable to get caught. It has the same stock as the Miscellania Market.

  2. The farming patches. The Farmers don't like you very much initially, but once you have done the Throne of Miscellania Quest and the Royal Trouble Quest their cold attitude towards you will thaw.

  3. The Etceteria Castle! Here you will find the ruler of Etceteria, Queen Sigrid. If you talk to her, she will often rant about Miscellania and its King, Vargas. She plays a role in the Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble Quests.

  4. The bank of Etceteria! Here you will find the only bank on either island, which can also be used for easy access when mining or thieving at Rellekka. The bank has only one booth, but it’s still as functional as any other bank.

  5. Etceteria is the home of rare Teak and Mahogany trees. These are the only ones around for miles. To use them, you need to do the Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble Quests. The lumberjack will refuse you access if you haven't.
