Welcome to my Guide to the amazing City of Varrock! Varrock is one of the biggest Cities in all of RuneScape and it's a City with many secrets and it overwhelms all by its great beauty. I decided to make a Guide to this massive City so you the Player may be able to appreciate the City for what it is so here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

Now to be able to give you an in-depth look at the City I am going to break it up into four Sections. Here is a picture of the them. I will explain one at a time. The green lines separate each Section. The first three Sections are dived up among the City. The forth will be all the areas outside the City.

Ok let's start with Section 1

Here is a Picture of Section one with numbers corresponding to each Building. Underneath this picture you will find a description of each numbered Building.

  1. This is one of two Banks in Varrock. Players refer to this Bank as "Varrock West" Bank. This Bank has three Floors. First, on the main Floor you find the Bank Tellers so you can store and deposit Items into your Bank. Second, there is a Basement. To access the Basement you must go through a Door which is along the southern Wall of the Bank and then down some Stairs. In this Room there is a Gated Room that you can not access. Inside this Room you can see many Chests, Gold Pieces, Brass Necklace, Gold Necklace, Ruby Ring, Gold Ore and a Gold Bar. You can telegrab the Gold Ore and the Gold Bar and the Necklaces and even some Gold Pieces. But unfortunately the Ruby Ring cannot be telegrabbed. So remember if you need a quick Gold Bar run to the Varrock Bank and telegrab it. Lastly there is an Upstairs to the Bank. To access it go to the northwestern Corner of the Bank and up some Stairs. There is nothing up here except a rectangular Walkway.

  2. This is Zaff's Staff Shop. Here is a picture of what his Shop offers.

    • Battle Staff – 7,000 Gold Pieces (Members)
    • Staff - 15 Gold Pieces
    • Magic Staff - 200 Gold Pieces
    • Air, Water, Fire and Earth Staffs – 1,500 Gold Pieces
**All prices also depend on the number of each that are in stock**

There is a Ladder leading Upstairs but nothing but a few Sacks and Boxes up there.

  3. This small place holds a Staircase that leads to the upper part of the Varrock Walls. A few Guards re-spawn here.

  4. This tattered House is the home to three Anvils for Smithing. This is the most popular place for Players to smith because it is very close to the Bank.

  5. This colorful little Tent is home to "Gypsy" she is where you start the Demon Slayer Quest .

  6. This two-part Building doesn't have anything in it except the northern part has a broken Ladder.

  7. This run down place has nothing of interest inside it let alone Walls really.

  8. This House is home to Thsallia. She sells these Fine Clothing and Accessories

Also she can change either your Top or Leg wear for a Fee of 500 Gold Pieces.

  9. This small place is home to one Guard and also has a Staircase leading to the upper half of the Varrock Wall. Seems that some People like to thieve in this upper Wall because it is peaceful.

  10. This is the Apothecary. He can make you Strength Potions if you supply him with deadly Red Spider Eggs, Limpwurt Root and a Fee of 5 Gold Pieces. Also he gives away a rather useless Potion that you can't even drink

  11. This is the Black Arm Gang’s Headquarters. You can choose to join them here or the Phoenix Gang to do the Hero’s Quest or the Shield of Arrav Quest. This complex is home to Katrine and a few Level 16 Thief’s. There are Stairs to go up but nothing is up here except the Half Shield for your Shield of Arrav Quest.

  12. This is The Varrock Sword Shop!

    Swords

    • Bronze - 26 Gold Pieces
    • Iron - 91 Gold Pieces
    • Steel - 299
    • Black - 624
    • Mithril – 1,000 Gold Pieces
    • Adamantite – 2,080 Gold Pieces

    Long Swords
    • Bronze - 40 Gold Pieces
    • Iron - 40 Gold Pieces
    • Steel - 500 Gold Pieces
    • Black - 960 Gold Pieces
    • Mithril - 1700 Gold Pieces
    • Adamantite - 3200 Gold Pieces
    Daggers
    • Bronze - 10 Gold Pieces
    • Iron - 35 Gold Pieces
    • Steel - 125 Gold Pieces
    • Black - 240 Gold Pieces
    • Mithril - 500 Gold Pieces
    • Adamantite - 800 Gold Pieces
** Prices depend on the amount of stock in store

There is also a Ladder. Go up it and you can find a Range.

  13. This Building has nothing of importance. Just a Ladder going up which has a large round Table and some Crates and Boxes to search. Also just outside this House there is a Guard Outpost with a few Guard re-spawns. Also travel a bit more southeast and you will find a circle of tall Stones which has many Dark Wizards around it. Also among these Wizards is an evil Demon by the name Delrith. If you want to slay him you must do the Demon Slayer's Quest.

Section 2

  1. This is the Varrock Castle. As you walk to the front of the Castle you will find two Fountains and a small re-spawn of Guards. When you walk in the front Double-Doors you will see a huge set of Stairs in front of you and as weird as it sounds there IS a Monk of Zamorak encaged behind the Stairs for some reason. As you walk left you will see three Rooms and Sir Prysin, a few Warrior Women and a Guard. In the Room at the north with the Quest symbol you will find Reldo, talk to him to start the Shield of Arrav Quest. If you continue eastward in the Castle you can walk through a series of Rooms that will lead you back to the Main Entrance. In these Rooms you will find two Ranges, a large Dining Area, a Sink for Water and a Throne Room which usually has King Roald in it. You can identify him because he will be sporting his Golden Crown! There is also a nice open Courtyard in the center of the Castle which holds a beautiful Bamboo Tree. Now if you take the Stairs located in the northeastern Corner or the main Stairs at the front of the Castle you find a few Rooms with Bucket respawns in them, a small Church for recharging your Prayer and a Room with a few practice Dummies. If you take the northwestern Stairs you will be in a small Room with where Guards respawn. Also feel free to roam outside the Castle because it is truly a beautiful place

  2. This is the area you come out of when you climb the Ladder from the Varrock Sewer. There is a Level 21 Bear and two small Gold Pieces respawns. Also just to the west are three Yew Trees.

  3. This small complex is just a Guard Outpost. Nothing is in here except a few Crates and two Guard respawns.

  4. This is just a really nice House. Nothing is in here but worth looking in because it is very glamorous inside with many Cabinets and Axe Displays.

  5. This is the Church of Varrock. It is run by Father Lawrence. The Altar to recharge your Prayer is in the northern part of the Church. Also there is a Staircase in the northwestern part of the Building which can lead you three Floors up! The first Floor is just a Lounge area. The second is a small Bedroom. And finally the last Floor brings you to the very top of the Building where the Clock is! It's kind of cool.

  6. I believe this is used for a Guard Barracks because of its four small Cots, nothing else of interest in here though.

  7. This cute little House must belong to Father Lawrence or another Follower of Saradomin because inside it has a large Mat daunting the colors of Saradomin with a Saradomin Star in the middle. Also take note of the nice little blue Flowers that surround the House.

  8. This is the Entrance to the Varrock Sewers! Here you can find many Monsters including Rats, Skeletons, Scorpions, Ghosts, Zombies, deadly Red Spiders and even Moss Giants! Make sure you are a strong Warrior before you venture into these parts

  9. This is just another one of Varrock’s big Houses. Nothing in here, there is an Upstairs but nothing is there either.

  10. This is the Museum of Varrock! On the first Floor you can talk to the Curator or even telegrab yourself the Iron Items on display. There is an Iron Sword, Iron Full Helmet and an Iron Platebody. Even take a look at a few Torturing Devices if you want. Also be sure to take notice of the Red Dragon’s Head which is mounted on the southern Wall along with a Bulls Head and some nice Portraits. Then make your way Upstairs and feast your eyes on some ancient Egyptian things like Mummies and Thrones! Also look at some cool Animal Bones and a Statue of a great King. But I would say the highlight of the whole Museum is the massive eerie Statue in the southwestern Corner of the Museum! It's huge and "intimidating" as its description says. Maybe it's some hint to what we may see in RuneScape someday! But gosh I hope not Razz

Section 3

  1. This is Varrock’s central Fountain. It is one of the more popular places for Players to come and sell or buy Items. The Fountains is truly beautiful be sure to give it a second glance as you pass by.

  2. This is Horvik's Armor Shop

    Chain Body
    • Bronze - 60 Gold Pieces
    • Iron - 210 Gold Pieces
    • Steel - 750 Gold Pieces
    • Mithril - 1872 Gold Pieces
    Plate Body
    • Bronze - 160 Gold Pieces
    • Iron - 500 Gold Pieces
    • Steel – 1,500 Gold Pieces
    • Mithril – 4,992 Gold Pieces
    • Black – 3,900 Gold Pieces
    Other
    • Iron Plate Legs - 280 Gold Pieces
    • Studded Body - 765 Gold Pieces
    • Studded Chaps - 700 Gold Pieces
** Prices depend on amount of stock in store

There is also a Anvil located in this Store.

  3. This House has five Training Dummies in it but nothing else of interest.

  4. This is the Varrock General Store. They regularly stock Pots, Jugs, Shears, Buckets, Tinder Boxes, Chisels and Hammers. You can also find various Items that other Players have sold to this Store.

  5. This is Lowe's Archery Emporium

Here you can buy the following Items
    • Bronze Arrows - range from 3-7 Gold Pieces each
    • Iron Arrows - range from 10-30 Gold Pieces each
    • Steel Arrows - range from 20-45 Gold Pieces each
    • Bolts - range from 3 -10 Gold Pieces each (nuts and cotter pins are priceless)
    • Short Bow - 50 Gold Pieces
    • Long Bow - 85 Gold Pieces
    • Oak short Bow - 100 Gold Pieces
    • Oak Long Bow - 150 Gold Pieces
    • Cross Bow - 70 Gold Pieces
You can also go up a Ladder into a Room with Shelves and a Desk being the Store’s Office

  6. This is the other Bank of Varrock often referred to as "Varrock East". It is a bit smaller then its counterpart "Varrock West". You can climb a Staircase and view a few locked up Chests and Statues but unlike Varrock West there is nothing to telegrab

  7. This is the Blue Moon Inn! One of my favorite Bars in all of RuneScape! One of my good buddies Jonny the Beard spends his life in here so be sure to say hi to him if you see him. Also there is a Women and a Barbarian Women (of course) I'm not saying anything but I hear rumors they get a little rowdy at night Razz
You can buy a Pint for only 2 Gold Pieces !

If you climb the Stairs on the southern Wall you will find two small Bedrooms, one Master Bedroom, a small Lounge area and a little Balcony. Also if you go back Downstairs and make your way to the back Room of the Bar you will find another Range and a Pot respawn. (Pot, as in Clay Pot) You can also go down the other Ladder and you find yourself in a huge Basement that has a large storage of every Liquor imaginable in the back.

  8. In the southern part of this two Room House you will find two Man respawn along with a Range. In the northern part all there is a Range also.

  9. In the northern part of this two Room connecting House you will find two Anvils for Smithing and a Ladder leading upwards. Going up that Ladder you find two Beds and a Table. In the southern part is Aubury's Rune Shop! Here you can buy and sell Runes. If you have completed the Rune Mysteries Quest he can teleport you to the Rune Essence Mine! This is the closest place to the Bank for Mining Rune Essence. Here is a look at what Aubury offers for Runes.

It’s hard to say what the maximum stock of each Rune is due to the fact that Players are constantly buying the Runes and the less the Store has in stock the more it costs. But all the basic Runes start off at 5-6 Gold Pieces each. The Chaos and Death start off at 25-50 Gold Pieces each when they are at full stock

  10. In the western Building of this small chain of Buildings you will find another Range and a Ladder which leads up to a small Room. Just outside to the east of this House is a small Garden of five Cabbages that you can pick for some quick healing. Making our way to the eastern Buildings, in the smaller Room of the two you will find yet another Staircase. Go up it and you will be in a small Room with a Man. Heading back down the Stairs and in the Room next to it you will find yet another Range.

  11. This is another House complex with two main parts. In the western part you won’t find anything except a cool little Pot cooking in a Fireplace (well at least I thought it was cool). In the eastern part of this Building you will find a second Fireplace and a Man respawn

  12. In this large attached backwards "L" shaped Building you will find two things: A Zamorak Complex and the Phoenix Gang Headquarters. First I will explain the Phoenix Gangs Headquarters.

The Phoenix Gang Headquarters is the southwestern portion of the Building. First of all you can climb down a Ladder in the most western Room that has a Dungeon Icon on it. Down here you will find Straven Guarding a Door which can only be opened by Phoenix Gang members and once through the Door you will be in a corridor which leads to two other Rooms overflowing with Level 16 Thieves which respawn throughout the underground space. When you go back up the Ladder you find two more Rooms to the east that are part of the Phoenix Headquarters. The one in the middle is a useless Room with nothing really in it but the third Room is locked and can only be accessed by using the Key given to you by the Phoenix Gang Leader. Proceed up the Ladder and you will find a Level 17 Weapons Master who Guards an Iron Dagger, Leather Gloves and the infamous Phoenix Crossbows.

Now to the Zamorak Complex in the large grey area of the big Building. In here you will find an Altar to recharge your Prayer. Also in this Room, to the north, you can open up a Curtain and make your way into a Torture Area. Also there is a small Building attached to the north side of this Complex which holds a Level 2 Man.

  13. In the northern Building of these two attached Buildings you will find Dimintheis. This is where you start the Family Crest Quest (Members Only) in the southern Building you will find the Fancy Clothes Store! Unfortunately only Members can buy Clothes here.

  14. This is the Dancing Donkey Bar! You can buy Beer for 2 Gold Pieces each. There is a small House that is just south of the Bar where the Bartender lives and in the small Yard of the two Houses there are two Giant Rats (Level 6) which respawn there.

  15. This House is home to Guidor and his Wife. They are part of the Plague City Quest (Members Only) other then them, nothing is in this House.

Ok now for the final part of this huge City! Section 4

The outskirts and surrounding areas. Here is a picture of the City again but this time I have all the areas numbered so I can explain them.

  1. This is the Cooks' Guild. You must have a Cooking Level of at least 32 to enter and be wearing a Chef's Hat. Inside you can find most of the things you need to make Wine, Cakes and Pies, there is even a Mill to make Flour.

  2. This is Juliet's House. In here you can talk to her as part of the Romeo and Juliet Quest or you can use the Range in her House to cook Food.

  3. This Humble Little House is home to Gertrude and her Kids. This is where you start the Gertrudes' Cat Quest (Members Only) there is also a Cooking Oven in here.

  4. This is the Mine known as "Varrock East" Mine. Here you will find 3 Silver Rocks, 8 Tin Rocks, 3 Gold Rocks and 3 Iron Rocks

  5. This is the Champions' Guild! You need to have 32 Quest Points to enter and once you can enter it is also the place to start the mighty Dragon Slayer Quest. On the main Floor there is a small Yard full of Chickens and an Oven to cook Food. If you proceed up the Stairs you will find yourself in a Room with two People. Scavvo and Valaine

    Scavve sells the following Items

    • Rune Plate Skirt - 64,000 Gold Pieces

    • This is the Mine known as "Varrock East" Mine. Here you will find 6 Tin Rocks, 4 Iron Rocks and 9 Copper Rocks.

    • This Great Building is known as the Jolly Boar Pub. It is a great Pub and is home to a variety of different Characters. You can find Black Knights, Men, Women, Thieves and even Dr. Harlow. A Pint of Beer still costs 2 Gold Pieces and in the back Room there is a Range and one of the few Thread respawns! Walk Upstairs and you can find four nicely sized Bedrooms.

    • This Lumber Yard is for Members Only. It too is used for the Gertrude’s' Cat Quest!

    • This is just a plain ole’ Empty House. But it is used in one of the Members Quests to kill someone.
