Requirements:
Items Needed:
- 45 Logs (Of any kind)
- Varrock Teleport Runes
- Tinderbox
Note: You can use whichever logs you'd like, but you cannot have a mix. (Such as four Willow Logs, and one Maple Log.)

Quest Start: Talk to King Roald in Varrock Palace. (Map)
- Talk to King Roald who will thank you for your efforts on resolving the problems of Misthalin and will ask you to help him with his 'early-warning system', and offers to reward you for your efforts.
- Withdraw twenty Logs from your bank (or if you lack any Logs, chop down some trees), then head to the River Salve and talk to Blaze Sharpeye. (Map)
- Blaze Sharpeye will explain that King Roald comissioned several Beacons to serve as a warning if an attack was coming from the Wilderness or other dangerous areas. He will go on to say that he needs several Beacons lit and that you're just the man for the job. Use your Logs with the unlit Beacon next to you, then light it by using your Tinderbox on the beacon.
- Talk to Blaze Sharpeye again and he will explain that to test the Beacon system fully you must light another Beacon to make sure that he can see it from his vantage point.
- Teleport to Varrock and, again, withdraw twenty-five of any log (you will need the other five later) in your bank (or chop down twenty-five trees if you lack the Logs).
- Head to the Rag and Bone Man which is just northwest of where Blaze Sharpeye is. (Map) Look for some stairs and climb them. Put the Logs in the Beacon and light it as you did last time.
- Return to Blaze Sharpeye who will be happy with the way that the testing is going so far. He will announce that he can see the Beacon and all he wants now is for you to 'top up' the Logs in his Beacon, as the fire is starting to go out. Light the Beacon with your five remaining Logs. Speak to Blaze Sharpeye who tells you to report to King Roald.
- Teleport to Varrock or walk there and talk to King Roald who will congratulate you on a quest well done.
