Special Thanks To: 32083 and Tyler

Members: Yes

Difficulty: Easy

Skills Needed: 45 Magic for Teleporting is recommended.

Items Needed: Hammer, Runes for Falador and Camelot Teleport recommended.

Start: Speak to the Dwarf Commander at the Coal Truck Mines east of McGrubor's Woods and north of Ardougne.

The Dwarf Commander informs you that Goblins have been invading the Coal Mines. To protect them you will need to fix the Fence that surrounds the Mines. He will give you six Fence Pieces to add to the existing Fence. Simply walk along the Fence looking for the broken Railings (they stick out and have a dent), then fix them when the option appears. It may take a couple of tries and you might take 2 to 3 damage if you fail to fix a Rail, but this is the only time in the Quest you will take any damage, so it is not something to worry about.

The places where the Railing is broken are shown as Yellow Dots:

Speak to the Commander again. He will thank you for fixing the Railing, but bring up another problem. One of his Guards, Gilib, has not reported back in a while. He will ask you to go to his south command center/watchtower. Go south towards the Tower. Climb to the third (and final) Floor. In the northwest Corner there will be a Corpse of a Dwarf. Pick up this Corpse and take it back to the Commander.

The Commander's next job for you is to find Gilib's Son, Gilob. Gilob was taken Prisoner by the Goblins. The Commander will explain that they are keeping him in their Hideout to the southeast. Go southeast from the Mines to a Cave by the Entrance to the Fishing Guild.

You will find Gilib hidden in a Box in the Northwest most Room of this Cave. He is in the differently colored Box marked on the following Picture:

Return to the Dwarf Commander after talking to Gilob. He will thank you and give you yet another Task. Now it's time to actually fix the Dwarf Cannon. The Commander will give you a Toolkit and Instructions to fix the Cannon as a final protection from the Goblins. Enter the Shed next to the Commander, you will find the Cannon inside. You will have to fix each individual part of the Cannon using the Toolkit. If you fail, as you will several times, you just have to try fixing that Part again. Unlike the Fence, you will not take damage fixing the Cannon.

The interface you see when repairing the Dwarven Cannon.

Once you have finished fixing the Cannon, the Dwarf Commander has a final Task for you. Amazingly he does not know what a Cannon shoots, so he will ask you to get vital Information relating to the use of a Cannon and its Ammunition from the Dwarfs that make them in the Mountains above Falador. This is where Falador Teleport comes in handy. You will have to go to the Ice Mountains and speak to a Dwarf named Nulodion. Nulodion is in the Northwest most Building of the Dwarf Black Guard Area on Ice Mountain. Nulodion will give you Instructions on Cannon use and a Cannonball Mould to give to the Dwarf Commander. Return to the Coal Mines (Camelot Teleport helps here) and give the Items to the Dwarf Commander.
