- Follow the Map and head south from the Shantay Pass to the Quest Start.
- Talk to the Wanderer who is south of the Gold Ore.

- She will tell you to get your Cat away from her, ask why, and she will tell you the location of the Secret Entrance to the City of Sophanem. She will then ask for a Tinderbox and a full Waterskin(4) in return as well.
- Talk to her again and give her the Materials by selecting the last Option saying that you have all the Materials for her. Then she will hypnotize you. You will then appear at the a large Rock that is east of her Tent.
- Enter that Rock to enter the City.
- Once inside the City, you will have a Canopic Jar in your Inventory. Each Player will get a different Jar. There is a Bug, a Crocodile, a Man, and an Ape shaped Canopic Jar.
- Head to Embalmer's House, southwest of the City.
- Go Upstairs by climbing the Ladder and pick up a Book called "Embalming Manual" on the east Table. Read it.

- Flashbacks

- Head into the Pyramid by touching the Door that is on the north side of the Pyramid. Turn on run. Pass the first Obstacle by standing in the farthest Corner of each Wall Crusher. Then click on the Diagonal Corner to cross. If you get hit, it will do eight damage to you.

- Next are Pits that you can fall from. If you fall, you will go back to the Ladder and it will do five damage to you. Follow the Path shown below. There will be a Level 84 Mummy at the end of the Path.

- You have to pass more Wall Crushers. Go through it by heading to the closest Corner to the next moving Block and click diagonally. Head through the Maze, and there will be Level 84 Mummies and Level 92 Scarabs that Poison you here. Once you reach the end to the Pit, jump-across the Pit by click on the closest Side of the Pit to you. If you fall you will appear back at the Mummy right after the Pitfall Area. You will need enough Energy to jump. Otherwise, it will tell you to Stand there and rest for a while.
Go west to the Door of the Burial Chamber, click on it and you will have to solve a Puzzle. To solve the Puzzle, you need to flip all the Squares so that it becomes the Image that you see on the right. It flips four Squares to the opposite of what it is, (Image is blank). Just start on one Corner, flipping all the Squares until you get to the last four Squares in the opposite Corner.

- You will say you got a flashback, and appear back outside of the Pyramid. Now you must find someone who can help you. Talk to the Sphynx outside the Pyramid and ask her to help you. She will give you a Puzzle: "A husband and a wife have six sons. Each son has a sister. How many people are in the family?" The Answer is nine. If you choose the incorrect Answer, you will lose your Cat. After you solve the Puzzle correctly, she will give you her Sphynx's Token to talk to the High Priest.
Head to the High Priest, west of the City, and talk to him. He will say that you should put the remains back into the Burial Chamber. Head back into the Pyramid with your Kitten/Cat/Overgrown Cat. Then right-click the Pyramid Door to open it. Go through the Pyramid again. Jump over the Pit and head back toward the west Door. There are four Jars on the Ground. Choosing the right Jar to pick up is different for each Player. Just pick up the one that you had earlier before you entered the Pyramid.
- Bug: Picking up the first Jar from the north will make Scabaras, Level 75, appear. Turn on Protection from Melee.

- Crocodile: Picking up the second Jar from the north will make Crondis, Level 75, appear. Turn on Protection from Magic.

- Man: Picking up the third Jar from the north will make Het, Level 81 appear. Turn on Protection from Melee.

- Ape: Picking up the most southerly Jar, will make Apmeken, Level 75, appear. Turn on Protection from Magic.

- Kill whatever Monster that appears for you, then pick up the Jar and head out the Door and jump across the Pit. You will say to yourself that you should put back the Jar. Jump across the Pit again, and go to the Door. You will need to do another Puzzle, and this time, it flips nine Squares, not four. Just move the Blank Squares to a Corner.

Once you are done, drop the Jar at the same Space you picked it up from. Go back outside to the High Priest and talk to him.
- The Ceremony
- The High Priest will ask you to prepare a Ceremony. Head to the east Side of the City to find the Carpenter. Talk to him and give him the Willow Log.
Note: After the Quest, the Carpenter will want to buy a constant supply of Willow Logs from you. He will buy them for 40 Gold Pieces each. You will have to give him the Logs in piles of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20.

- Head north of the Carpenter to Raetul. Buy a Linen from him for 30 Gold Pieces.

- Now head back to the Embalmer, who is southwest of the City. Talk to him and he will ask for Bucket of Sap, Linen, and a Bag of Salt. Then talk to him again to give him the Items.
Note: After the Quest, the Embalmer will continue buying Buckets of Sap for 30 Gold Pieces each, and Bags of Salt for 20 Gold Pieces each. You will be able to sell in increments of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20.

- Talk to the High Priest and he will ask you to talk to the Carpenter again. Once you talk to the Carpenter, you will receive the Holy Symbol. Then head back into the Pyramid and go all the way to the east Burial Chamber. You will go into a Trance.

- Go through the Door and put the Unholy Symbol in one of the Sarcophagus, located all around the Walls. Go through the Door, then you'll appear on the other Side of the Pit before you jumped over. You will then say to yourself that you shouldn't have done that.
You need to wait for a while until you can jump across the Pit again. Just stand there for a while, then jump over the Pit. Go in the east Chamber again. Cinematics will occur between the Devourer, the High Priest, and you. Turn on Protection from Magic and kill the Level 91 Possessed Priest. He will drop an Attack, Strength, Defense or Agility Potion(4).

- Talk to the High Priest in the Chamber and he will say that the City can't be helped if People keep stealing the Holy Symbol. Go through the Door again and you will appear back at the Ladder. You will be hypnotized again and Icthlarin will talk to you.

You will then appear back inside the east Burial Chamber. Make your way through the Pyramid to go back outside again. Talk to the High Priest!
