Start Point: The Myreque Hide-0ut To Start: Talk to Veliaf Quest Length: Medium Members Only: Yes Minimum Requirements: Quests: Levels:
Items Required: 1 Pickaxe*, 1 piece of Cooked Food, approximately 5 Buckets*, 1 Spade, 1 Hammer*, 11 Planks**, 36 Nails (Any kind, all must be of the same type), 4 Tinderboxes**, 10 Bronze Axes***, 10 Raw Mackerels or Snails, 1 Swamp Paste, 2 Steel Bars, 1 Coal Ore, 1 Silver Sickle (b), 1 Silver Bar, 1 Soft Clay, 1 Mithril Bar, 1 Cut Sapphire, 1 Water Rune, 1 Cosmic Rune, and 1 Rope * - If you forget to bring your Pickaxe, Hammer, or Buckets while you are in Burgh de Rott, there is a Bronze Pickaxe respawn east of the Town near a lot of Rocks, a Hammer respawn in the upper level of the Building north of the Inn, and a Bucket respawn west of the Well. ** - These Items can be purchased at the General Store in Mort'ton if you have completed the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. *** - Bob's Axes in Lumbridge sells 10 Bronze Axes. You can also have a friend who has done the Quest buy you 10 Bronze Axes from the General Store. Items Recommended: Ectophial, Druids' Pouch, Steel Chainmail Body, Steel Platelegs, Steel Medium Helm, an extra Silver Sickle (b), (15 Cooked Snails, Salmon, Slimy Eel, or Stew), Armour, and Food Non-Player Characters: Veliaf Hurtz, Florin, Aurel, Cornelius, Gadderanks, Wiskit, Ivan Strom, Polmofi Ferdygris, and Drezel Monsters: Gadderanks (Level 35), Vampyre Juvinates (Level 54), and Vampyre Juvinates (Level 50 or 75) Finding the Myreque Hide Out Head to the Bank in Canifis and withdraw your Pickaxe, 1 Spade, 1 Hammer, 5 Buckets, 6 Planks, 24 Nails, and 1 cooked piece of Food. You may want to take out more cooked Food or bring your Druids' Pouch along in case Ghasts rot your Food. Then head south of 'the Hair of a Dog Tavern,' Canifis' Pub/Inn, you should see the Trapdoor from the In Search of the Myreque Quest. ![]() Head down that Trapdoor and you will appear in the Inn's Basement. Head south to the Wall and then click on it to go through. Continue south until you see a part of the Cave that curves out to the east. There will be a Stalagmite in front of a Cave Entrance. ![]() Right click the Stalagmite and select "Squeeze-past" to get through. You appear in a Cave where the Myreque is hiding out. ![]() Starting the Quest Speak to Veliaf Hurtz and ask if you can join their Organization. He will say that he has to contact his authorities first. Then ask if there is anything you can do to help. He will ask you to set up a Base in Burgh de Rott. Agree to this task. ![]() Head out of the Cave again and then continue south along the Cave until you reach the end. On the northern Wall will be Wooden Doors. Open those and you will appear in the Swamp of Mort Myre. Head south of the Wooden Doors, which you just came through, to a Rope Bridge. Click on the Tree to climb up. Then you must click along the Path of the Rope Bridge to cross it. When you reach the end, right click the southern Tree and select Climb Down. Continue directly south of the Rope Bridge until you see a symbol on your Mini-Map which should indicate that there is a Boat you can travel on. Click on the Swamp Boat to travel to Mort'ton.![]() Helping to Re-build Burgh de Rott ![]() Once you arrive, head south to Burgh de Rott, speak to Florin who is throwing things at you on the other side of the Gate. Ask why they don't have Food and tell him that you aren't interested in taking any of it away. ![]() Then search the Open Chest just north of the Gates. Use your cooked piece of Food on the Open Chest. Florin should now let you into the Town. ![]() Click on the Gates to open them and head inside. Speak to Florin and ask what to do and what things are in this Town. He will mention the Inn. Head southeast to the Inn and go inside. You will see a Broken-down Wall that you can climb. Click on the Wall to climb over. Once inside the small Room, use your Pickaxe on the Rubble that is on top the Trapdoor. Then open the Trapdoor and head underground. Once inside the Inn's Basement, there will be fifteen Piles of Rubble on the southeast side of the Basement. To clear the Inn, follow these instructions: 1. Click on the Pile of Rubble and mine it with your Pickaxe. 2. Use your Spade on what's remaining of the Pile. 3. Your Bucket will be filled one third of the way. ![]() Repeat these steps fifteen times. Each of your Buckets will hold three Piles of Rubble. Five Buckets should be enough for the job. Along the way you will find ten Bronze Nails, five Iron Nails, three Steel Nails, two Black Nails, one Mithril Nail, two Rocks, one Broken Glass, Plaster Fragment, and a Dusty Scroll. All of which are irrelevant except for the Nails which you can use later on if you wish to. If you run out of space, you can drop these Items. If you wish to re-obtain the Plaster Fragment or the Dusty Scroll at any time, you can head southwest of the Inn and there will be a Rubble Pile which you can search in. You will earn 30 Mining Experience per Pile of Rubble that you clear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once you are done clearing all fifteen Piles of Rubble, your game screen will focus to a Plaque on the northern Wall. Read it and it will say, "Blessings on Effaritay, our Icyene Queen from far off lands and her loving Children of Hallowed name." Then head back Upstairs, back outside of the Inn. ![]() Head to the General Store that is the Building northeast of the Inn. Speak to Aurel the owner and ask if there is anything you can do. He will tell you to repair the Store. Go outside and west of the General Store Entrance is a Ladder that leans against the Wall. Climb up the Ladder. Search the Hole in the Roof and then use your Plank on the Roof to repair it. Climb back down the Ladder and head east of the Entrance to the General Store and search the Broken Wall. Then use your Planks to repair it. After completing that task, speak to Aurel the General Store owner again. ![]() He will ask you to restock the Store. You will need ten Bronze Axes, ten Raw Mackerels or Raw Snails, and three Tinderboxes. He will give you a Crate to place the Items inside. If you find someone who has already done this part, he or she can buy them from Aurel and give them to you. Use the Items on the Crate to put them inside. You can purchase Tinderboxes at the General Store in Mort'ton, the Bronze Axes at Bob's Axes in Lumbridge, fish Mackerels using Big Fishing Net, and kill Snails in the Maze east of Mort'ton. ![]() Now Bank and withdraw one Swamp Paste, five Planks, twelve Nails, and one Hammer. Swamp Paste and Planks can be purchased at Mort'ton. Speak to Aurel again and tell him that you have retrieved the Items. He will now be able to sell you ten Bronze Axes, Tinderboxes, Mackerels and Snails. ![]() Ask Aurel about what to do now. He will tell you that you should repair the Bank. Head southwest to the Bank and speak to Cornelius. He will tell you to repair the Bank Booth. Search the Bank Booth where there is Broken Glass. Then use your Swamp Paste on it to repair it. Head to the west Wall outside of the Bank and search the Broken Wall. Then use your Plank on the Wall to repair it. Go back to Cornelius and tell him you have done the task. He will then tell you to recruit someone for the job. Ask him what to do now and he will still tell you to find someone to recruit. Then ask him if he wants to take the job and he will accept it and become the Banker. ![]() You can now Bank here in the Town. Withdraw two Steel Bars, one Hammer, one Coal Ore, and one Tinderbox. Speak to any one of the Town's Citizens and ask what to do. They will tell you that you should repair the Furnace. Head east to the Furnace. Search the Furnace and find out what is wrong with it. Then use one of your Steel Bars on the Furnace to repair it. Search the Furnace again and it will say that it needs to be refueled. Use your Coal on it. Then use a Tinderbox to lite it up. ![]() A short Cutscene will take place. After the Cutscene, head back to the Bank and wield your Silver Sickle (b), Armour and bring some Food. Head into the General Store and speak to Gadderanks about what's going on. Then speak to Wisket about what's going on as well. Gadderanks will then tell you that you are too nosey and will challenge you. Attack Gadderanks, Level 35, and kill him easily. Once he falls to the ground, Veliaf Hurtz will come and help you attack the 2 Vampyre Juvinates, Level 54. The only Weapon that is effective on them is the Silver Sickle (b). Attack the Vampyres using your Silver Sickle (b). Once they are dead, speak to Gadderanks again. He will tell you the Ingredients of a Potion to change the Vampyre Juvinates back to normal. You will also receive a Gadderhammer from Aurel after the battle. ![]() The Escort Mission Now go back to the Bank and refill on supplies. You will now need to do an escort mission. Make sure you have your Silver Sickle (b) with you. You may also want to bring 1 Steel Chainmail Body, Steel Platelegs, Steel Medium Helm, an extra Silver Sickle (b), and Cooked Snails, Salmon, Slimy Eel, or Stew with you for the Person you are escorting. Head back to the Myreque Hide-Out in the Canifis' Inn's Basement. Speak to Veliaf Hurtz, and he will tell you to tell Polmofi to meet him in Burgh de Rott and tell Ivan Strom to go to the Temple of Saradomin, east of Canifis. Speak to Polmofi Ferdygris and you will tell him to meet Veliaf in Burgh de Rott. Then speak to Ivan Strom and tell him that you will be escorting him. Use the Armour, Silver Sickle, and Food here if you have any. He will tell you which Food is his favorite and then he will tell you to get fifteen of those. Now talk to Ivan again and choose between two Paths: the Short Route which has two Level 75 Vampyre Juvinates; or the Long Route which has four Level 50 Vampyre Juvinates. ![]() Once you get an encounter, attack the Vampyre Juvinates, first before they attack Ivan. Try to make it so that you become a wall between the Vampyre Juvinates and Ivan Strom. If you succeed in defeating the Vampyre Juvinates, they will turn to Dust. ![]() If they manage to attack him and Ivan runs low on health, he will automatically head back to the Hide-Out. You will then need to right click the Stones on the Floor near the location where you were standing on. When you escape the Short Route, you will appear west of Canifis, north of the Mushroom Patch. When you escape the Long Route, you will appear south the Gates that are west of Canifis. Note that you may be able to escape the Long Route with only killing three Vampyre Juvinates and still be able to make it to the Temple. ![]() Finding the Tomb of Ivandis Once you finished escorting Ivan Strom, you will appear near the Trapdoor to the Saradomin Temple, west of Canifis. Head down the Trapdoor and speak to Drezel. Tell him you know about Ivandis. Ask all options until you get to the point where you try to make him feel guilty. He will then give you the Key to the Monks' Library. ![]() Use the Key on the Keyhole that is located on the Wall east of Drezel. It will reveal a Trapdoor. Head down then to the northeast corner of the Room. Search the two Bookcases for three Books: Ancient Book, Battered Tome, and Leather Book. Read all three of them. ![]() Then head back to Canifis and withdraw a Hammer and Soft Clay at the Bank. Bring your Ectophial with you. Go back down the Trapdoor behind the Canifis Bar. Go south past the Wall and walk south. Not too far from the Wall, there will be a Cave Entrance with Wooden Boards blocking the way. ![]() Use your Hammer on the Wooden Boards. Go inside the Cave and head south then east to the Tomb. Search the Tomb and you will find a unique looking Rod made out of Silver and Mithril Alloys fused to the surface. Use your Soft Clay on the Tomb to create a Rod Mould. ![]() Teleport to Port Phasmatys for a Furnace. Withdraw 1 Silver Bar, 1 Mithril Bar, 1 Cut Sapphire, 1 Water Rune and 1 Cosmic Rune, as well as your newly made Rod Mould. Use your Silver Bar on the Furnace and select the Rod to make one. You will earn 55 Crafting Experience when you make the Rod. Then enchant the Silvthrill Rod using Level 7 Magic, the Sapphire Jewelry Enchant. + + + + + = ![]() Now Bank and withdraw one Rope. Bring your Silvthrill Rod with you. Head back all the way to the Temple where Drezel is. West of Drezel is a Well. Use the Silvthrill Rod on that Well to dip it into River Salve. You have now enchanted it properly. ![]() Make your way back to the City south of Mort'ton, Burgh de Rott. Go back into the Inn's Cellar. Speak to Veliaf Hurtz and give him the Rod of Ivandis (10). ![]() Congratulations! Quest Complete!
Rod of Ivandis (10) and the Guthix Balance Potion After this Quest, you can make several Rods of Ivandis (10). It has a 'Special' that is used on the Vampyre Juvinates east of Burgh de Rott. Attack them and once they have 1/3rd of their life left cast the 'Special'. It will freeze the Vampyre Juvinate in one spot. Then use the Guthix Balance Potion on the Vampyre Juvinate. He or She will either turn into a stronger Vampyre Juvinate or turn back into a Human and give you a Reward. The Rod of Ivandis (10) only has ten 'Specials', after ten uses, it will crumble into Dust. ![]() Reward Includes: Black, Mithril, and Adamant Weapons, Armour, and Logs. How to make a Guthix Balance Potion: To make the Guthix Balance Potion you will need 1 Harralander, 1 Red Spiders' Egg, 1 Vial of Water (or a Stat Restore Potion), 1 Garlic and 1 Silver Dust. Garlic is found in a Chest in the Inn's Cellar and in a Cupboards in the upper level of a House in Draynor Village. Silver Dust is created by using a Silver Bar on the Grinder on the upper Floor of the Ectofuntus Temple. 1. Use the Harralander on a Vial of Water. + = ![]() 2. Add in Red Spiders' Eggs to make a Stat Restore Potion. + = ![]() 3. Add in one Clove of Garlic to make an Unfinished Potion. + = ![]() 4. Add in Silver Dust to create the Guthix Balance Potion. + = ![]() You will earn 112 Herblore Experience starting from step one. |
