Minimum Requirements:

Quests
Levels
Required Items:
  • Pickaxe
  • 8 Coal Ores or 2 Elemental Bars
  • Hammer
Recommended Items:
  • Camelot Teleport Runes
Starting Point: Search the bookcases in the Exam Centre at the Dig Site and read the Beaten Book.
  1. Head to the Examination Centre located south east of Varrock and north east of Al Kharid. Once you're there, go into the library section of the Centre on the south east corner.

  2. Find the Beaten Book located on the northern row of Shelves on the most eastern side. Click on the Book and a Scroll should slip out. Read the Beaten Book and the Scroll.

  3. Now, teleport to Camelot and head west into Seers' Village. Bank and withdraw your Pickaxe, 8 Coal Ores, and a Hammer. Make sure you still have your Beaten Book and your Scroll with you.

  4. Go west into the Elemental Workshop. Click on the Odd Looking Doors to go through and then go downstairs.

  5. Read your Scroll, and the directions should lead you into the Water Element Room and a Machine located in the south west corner of the Room. Search the Machine and you will find a Key.

  6. Head back into the middle of the Workshop, by the flight of Stairs which you came down from, and you will notice a large Hatch on the floor. If you have not yet made your Elemental Bars, now would be a good time to do so. If you can't remember how to do this, check the Elemental Workshop Quest Guide. Click on it to open and your Key will unlock the Hatch. Then click on it again to head downstairs. You will be in a secluded area of the Workshop.

  7. Head south and look for two Crates full of Scrolls. Pick up one Lever Schematic and one Crane Schematic, one from each box. Click on both of them to look at them.

  8. Then search all of the Crates in the Room for four Items:

    • A Small Cog
    • A Medium Cog
    • A Large Cog
    • A Pipe Section

There are also crates located upstairs on the Ramp, accessible by heading up the small flight of Stairs located south of the ones you came down from. Once you have all four Items, go back upstairs.

  9. Go back into the main Room and use your Elemental Metal on one of the Workbenches. Select "An elemental claw" and you will craft a Crane Claw.

  10. Now head back down the Hatch in the middle of the Room. Head to the south side of the Room. You should notice a Crane with purple Claws, one which is missing. Pull the Lever just west of the Crane to lower it. Then use your Crane Claw on the Crane to replace the missing Claw.

  11. Make your way to the eastern side of the Room. You will notice a Tunnel with a Fan. If you look closely on the Wall west of the Tunnel, you will notice three Pins with two yellow arrows pointing clockwise. On the northern side, use your Small Cog on the upper Pin. Then use your Medium Cog on the Pin below the Small Cog. Lastly, use your Large Cog on the southern Pin.

  12. Go back up the Ramp by using the Stairs in the south west of the Room. Once you are up there, head into the most northern section of the Ramp. You will notice that there is a Hole in one of the Pipings. Use your Pipe on the Hole to repair it.

  13. Now head back to the western side of the ramp. There will be a Junction Box near three Crates. Open the Junction and a window will pop up. You have to try and connect the Pipes correctly by clicking on two Pipes at a time to connect them. The Pipes cannot overlap each other. The order in which you place the Pipes will not matter. This is how your pipes should look:

  14. To know if you have the correct combination of Pipe alignments, you need to go down the stairs leading to the Ramp and pull the Old Lever beside three thin Pipes directly north of those Stairs. If you have the correct combination it will say, "You pull the lever and the press responds. The hardy comes down, stopping inches from the jig, then returns to its original position."

  15. Now go into the middle of the room. You will notice another Old Lever with a yellow cart sign above it. You will have to pull this Lever a few times until you get the Jig Cart under the Crane. The Jig Cart is located on the Tracks that surround the whole Room.

  16. Once the Jig Cart is below the Crane, place your Elemental Metal on the Jig Cart. Pull the western Old Lever beside the Crane and the Claw will lower onto the bar. Pull the same Old Lever again to lift the Elemental Bar.

  17. Now pull the Old Lever to the East of the Crane to cause it to swing around and then pull the western Old Lever to lower the Elemental Bar into the molten lava. Observe the bar as it turns from purple to orange. Once it does, pull the western Old Lever again to lift the Elemental Metal. Then pull the eastern Old Lever to make it swing around again and then pull the western Old Lever twice so that the Crane places the Elemental Metal on the Jig Cart again.

  18. Once your orange Elemental Metal is on the Jig Cart, pull the Cart Lever in the middle of the Room so that the Jig Cart travels to the next Station: the Press. Pull the Old Lever located west of the Jig Cart lever to activate the Press. Your Bar should now be flattened.

  19. Once flattened, pull the Jig Cart Lever again. It should travel to the north side of the Track.

  20. Pull the Old Lever directly south of the Jig Cart and your Elemental Metal. This should cause the Door of the glass casing to swing open. Click on the Corkscrew Lever twice so that your orange flattened Elemental Metal is inside of the glass casing. Then pull the Old Lever again so that the door closes.

  21. There are two Water Valves located on the north side of Room, just by the Tracks. The western Water Valve is to fill the tank. The eastern Water Valve is to drain the tank. If both of them are open, it will only fill up with a little bit of water because the eastern Valve is draining it. Click on the eastern Water Valve and make sure it says, "You close the valve."

  22. If you opened it, just click on the Water Valve again to close it. Then head over to the western Water Valve. Click on it so that the Glass Tank fills up with Water. By then, your Elemental Metal should have turned blue. Click on the western Water Valve to close it. Then click on the eastern Water Valve to open it and drain the water tank.

  23. Bring your Elemental metal back into the track by pulling the Old Lever to open the door and then pressing the Corkscrew lever twice. Pull the Old Lever again.

  24. Now pull the Jig Cart lever so that your Jig Cart travels to the Air Tunnel on the east side of the room. Pull the Old Lever near the Air Tunnel. Your blue Elemental Metal should now have turned white. Then pull the Lever again to stop the fan from turning.

  25. Lastly, pull the Jig Cart lever again so that it travels all the way back under the Crane. Click on the Cart to take from it. You should now have a Primed Bar in your Inventory.

  26. On the north west side of the Room, there should be a Hatch, or a Door as it is called. Go down that flight of Stairs. Head south until you reach the Mind Doors. Go through them and head into the Room. You should see a strange Machine in the middle of it.

  27. Place your Primed bar under the Extractor Gun. Then click on the Extractor Hat to operate the Device. Your white Prime Bar will have turned orange. Pick it up. You will now have a Primed Mind Bar.

  28. Head back all the way upstairs to the floor where the workbenches are. Use your Primed Mind Bar on one of the Workbenches to create a Mind Helmet.
