Start Point: Rift Entrance, northwest of the Digsite
To Start: Talk to Launa
Quest Length: Short
Members Only: Yes
Minimum Requirements: None, but a good knowledge of combat is recommended
Items Required: One Rope
Items Recommended: Armour, Food, Weapon, Anti-Poison
Starting the Quest
- Bank and equip your Armour and Weapon. Bring some Food, especially for those who are low-leveled. Bring one Vial of Anti-Poison Potion and one Rope.
- Now head to the Digsite by either taking the Gnome Glider (select Lemantra Andra) or head east from Varrock and pass through the Gates that are north and south of the Quest Start location. The actual starting point is located northwest of the Digsite.
- Head northwest of the Digsite and speak to Launa, an old Woman who is standing by the Rift. She will tell you that her Son and Husband are down that Rift and they have been looking for their Son for 25 years. Offer to help look for both of them.

- Use the Rope on the Rift and then click on it to climb down. A short Cutscene will take place and you will appear in the Rage Room. Above your game screen will be a Rage Bar. If at any time you want to leave, click the arrow on the Wall beside the spot where you climbed down.
- Take a Weapon from the Weapon rack, west of the arrow. Choose a Weapon then use it on the Creatures as listed below. Each Weapon is specifically designated to do damage on a certain Monster. Wield the Weapon and attack. These Monsters are weak and will do hardly any damage to you.

- Use the Anger Sword with Angry Unicorn (Level 45).
- Use the Anger Spear with Angry Bear (Level 40).
- Use the Anger Mace with Angry Rat (Level 45).
- Use the Anger Battleaxe with Angry Goblin (Level 45).
- All Monsters will respawn. Once you reach the highest Rage level on the Bar, you will kill every Creature in there with a one-hit Dragon Special with Rage.

- Head into the next Room through the Door on the east Wall. Another short Cutscene will take place and you will appear in the Room of Fear.
- Look into each Dark Hole around the Walls of this Cave. There will be Fear Reapers (Level 42) that appear occasionally as you look into the Holes which you must kill. Kill five of them to have access to the next Room.
- Enter the Black Hole to the west Wall to go to the next Room. Another short Cutscene will take place and you will appear in the Room of Confusion.
- Kill the Confusion Beasts (Level 43), it does Melee and Ranged Attacks. They will also do one Poison damage. However, they do not do a lot of damage at all. Some of these Beasts are illusions. Attack one Confusion Beast and see if you can damage it. If you cannot damage it, then it is an illusion. Simply run away from it and attack another one until you find one that you can kill. You will need to kill five real Confusion Beasts in order to find the real Confusing Door. Once you do, the rest of the Doors and the Confusion Beasts will disappear.
- Then enter the Confusing Door on the west side of the Room. Another Cutscene will take place and you will appear in the Room of Hopelessness.
- Kill the Hopeless Creatures (Level 40) three times each. They will shrink every time. It is a Multi-Combat Area. They seem to draw the Lifeforce out of you, but really, it doesn't do anything.
- After killing them all, a beautiful Bridge will appear. Cross the Hope Bridge and use the Exit.

- A Short Cutscene will take place. You will now have to kill Tolna (Level 46).

- He does some sort of Ranged Attack and Melee if you stand near him. He also does Poison damage. However, he is weak and has low Defence. Kill all three Heads and Tolna will turn back into a Human.
- Speak to Tolna and you will appear outside the Rift again. Speak to Tolna again outside of the Rift and he will tell you what had actually happened during the last 25 years.
