Fishing has to be one of my favorite Skills, and it is not a bad Money maker, so I have composed this Guide to help you on the glorious route to becoming a Fishing expert. Starting the Journey -------------------------------- Well, becoming a Fisherman will take a lot of hard work, but it pays off. Be sure you are ready to work hard, and are ready to spend hours (That's right, hours) Fishing and Cooking. Here we go....  What is a Small Fishing net? Levels 1-5----------------------------------------------------- Go to the nearest Fishing Supply Store, and grab yourself a Small Fishing Net. If you are a Member, the best place to go is Catherby, that will be your Fishing Guild until you are 68 Fishing. As for Non-Members, go to the Store in Port Sarim and head down near Draynor Village and fish away. You will be catching Shrimp. It is up to you whether or not to Cook them, but I suggest Cooking every fish you catch. Once you are Level5 Fishing, Store the Net, and read on....  Using the Fishing Rod... Levels 5-20---------------------------------------------------- Again, head down to Port Sarim or Catherby, buy a Fishing Rod, and a reasonable amount of Fishing Bait. Every Fish you catch with a Rod uses one Fishing Bait. Get around 100, get more later when you need it. You will be catching Sardines and Herring. Draynor Village is still the best spot to fish. You can also use a Big Net, which is Members Only and you need sixteen Fishing. You can catch Caskets, Gloves, Seaweed, Boots, Cod, and Bass.  I wanna Fly...Fish that is. Levels 20-35---------------------------------------------------- This is my favorite way of getting Experience from Level 20 Fishing to about 50. Follow this route if you can, as it gains fast Experience or read on to learn other methods. Grab a Fly Fishing Rod, and Sword or fork over the Cash, because now we need Feathers. I grabbed about 1,000 Feathers, and went to the West Bridge of Varrock, right below Edgeville, and went right to work. Regardless if you're Free-To-Play or Pay-To-Play, this is your best bet. You can stop at Level 35 or keep going, but this is nice Cooking and Fishing Experience, and the Edgeville Bank is right above you, the choice is yours.  Harpoons...the Money making Tool. Levels 35-50 & 76 and above---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Harpoons are your friend, seriously. At Level35, find a "cage" Area, right click on it, and hit "harpoon" You will start catching Tuna, which heal ten Hit Points, and are not bad for fighting Food. The best place to get Tuna would be Catherby for Pay-To-Play, and for Free-To-Play, Karamja Fishing Dock. Once you are Level 40, you can move on to Lobsters or get up to Level 50, and catch Swordfish, which heal fourteen. Here is the serious part, don't forget about your Harpoon later, at Level 76 you can catch Shark, which sell for quite a bit of Money, and are sadly, Members Only. Sharks are best caught in Catherby or the Fishing Guild (Level 68 Fishing to enter) Just right click on a "net" Area and have at it. Sharks heal twenty Hit Points!  Lobster Cage...My friend, and it can be yours. Level 40 and up---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- This is part of the reason I said Fly Fish until Level 50, catching Lobsters at Level 40 is hard. Gain the quick Experience Fly Fishing or catching Tuna. Once your 50, start with the Lobsters. Lobsters heal twelve Hit Points, and are very useful for PKing and fighting. The best place for Pay-To-Play is Catherby until Level 68 Fishing, and for Free-To-Play, Karamja Fishing Dock. In Free-To-Play, Lobsters are very popular, especially Cooked Lobster. Catch Lobster until Level 76 Fishing. Trawler Net....Handle with care. Levels 75-81 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ I really don't know much about a Trawler Net. They can be found at Port Khazard, and are Members Only. You need 75 Fishing and Swamp Paste to use a Trawler Net. You can catch Sea Turtle and Manta Ray, which heal twenty and twenty-two Hit Points respectively. They are probably not the best Option, go with Sharks. But, if your a Fishing freak, have at it. Other: The Oily Fishing Rod...Slippery! Level 50+ ---------------------------------------------------------- This is used in the Hero's Quest and is NOT tradable. It is used to catch a Lava Eel, which is necessary for the Quest. Really not much use for it other than the Quest. You need 50+ Fishing to use it. The Fishing Guild ---------------------------------------------- The Fishing Guild is the ultimate Fishing Experience. You need Level 68 Fishing to enter, and it is Pay-To-Play only. The Fishing Guild is located North of Ardougne. There are two Docks, each having Net and Cage Areas. There is a Fishing Supply Area; Roachey will be your Supplier. There is a range literally as soon as you step through the Door, and a Bank with friendly Bankers to top it all off. Definitely a time saver. One of the best features of the Fishing Guild is that there is no need to run from Spot to Spot to Net Fish, or Cage Lobsters, it is all in one convenient Area.  Fishing Areas ---------------------------------------- These are the best spots for Fishing for Pay-To-Play and Free-To-Play. Not including the Fishing Guild, of course. (Free-To-Play) Small Net/Harpoon: Karamja Dock (Pay-To-Play) Big Net/Small Net/Harpoon: Catherby (Free-To-Play) Lobster Cage: Karamja Dock (Pay-To-Play) Lobster Cage/Harpoon: Catherby (Free-To-Play) Lure (Fly Fishing): Barbarian Village (Pay-To-Play) Lure (Fly Fishing): Barbarian Village Beware of the random Fishing Events! The random Fishing Events are very odd, you can be attacked by a River Troll, your Fishing Spot can turn into a Whirlpool, an Evil Fish can take your Fishing Tool and place it somewhere else, and the Undead Zombie can attack!
