Banks will prove to be very useful in your adventures across RuneScape. For those prone to dying, or simply fearful of losing their treasured items, a bank can be an excellent haven for your items to stay safe. You can also place items in your bank for storage reasons, such as if you wish to use the item in the future, but don't intend to carry it around until this date arrives.
Banks can be found almost anywhere. The vast majority of cities harbour a bank, and as do smaller areas, such as the Shantay Pass.
Using a bank is also a very, very simple process. Directly clicking on a Banker (Use the bank booth option) will cause your character to engage in conversation with the Banker, about accessing your Bank Account, Bank Pins, or a simple chat. While right clicking on the Banker will open other helpful options, The 'Examine' option only tells you a small piece of information about the bank booth, and isn't all too useful.
- Use-quickly Bank booth: Opens your Bank Account without any conversation with the Banker. Used by players who wish to access their Bank Account quickly.
- Collect Bank booth: Allows the player to view his Grand Exchange progress, whether it be if your item has been sold, or the coveted item you desire has been purchased.

The bank interface is laid out very well, and it's incredibly easy to understand. The center of the interface contains all your items, the top of the interface boasts your specified tabs, and the bottom shows your various options that you can use to make your banking experience considerably easier.

| Button | Description |
View All Items
Allows the player to view all the contents of his/her bank. All items will still be divided into tabs if the player has divided them.
New Tab
Drag and drop an item onto this button to create a new tab with that specific item being the tab's image. If you are unhappy with the tab's image, simply go to that tab and put another item as the first item in the tab, hence changing the tab's image. There is a maximum of 8 tabs, and if you wish to remove a tab to conserve space, simply right click the tab and select 'Collapse'. Tabs are used to easily access commonly used items. For instance, many players have a category for runes and other magical items, one for melee items, one for ranging armor and ammo, one for food and potions, etc.
Bank Slots Used
Clearly shows the amount of slots a player has used in their bank out of how many he/she can hold at maximum. Currently F2P players can hold 68 and P2P players can hold 496 at maximum capacity.
Toggle Insert/Swap Modes
Allows the player to change from 'Insert' or 'Swap' modes for moving items in your bank. Insert allows the player to rearrange an item without swapping slots by dragging and dropping the item on the other item, hence pushing it down one slot. Swap allows the player to swap an item's slot with another item's slot by dragging and dropping the item on the item you wish to switch with.
Toggle Note/Item Modes
Switches the mode from 'Item' to 'Note', or vice versa. Note allows the player to withdraw multiple items in note form, hence being able to withdraw as many as he/she wishes. While Item allows the player to withdraw the item in its normal 'item form'.
Beast of Burden Deposit
Upon being clicked all the items that your Summoning Familiar is currently holding are deposited into your bank.
Search
Upon being clicked, the player is permitted to search for a specific item/group of items somewhat identical to the Grand Exchange search. Search results are shown on the screen almost as if they were a new tab. (Example)
