Bar Crawl - Special Report

This Guide is for the Bar Crawl, which is required for both the Scorpion Catcher Quest and the Horror from the Deep Quest. For more information about these Quests please click on the respective links.

To begin the Bar Crawl, go to the Barbarian Outpost, which is in the furthest Northwest corner of Runescape, South of the Lighthouse and North of the Waterfall area. Try to enter and a Barbarian Guard will stop you and state that you must complete the Bar Crawl in order to enter. He will give you a Barcrawl Card.

To complete the Bar Crawl, you will need 218 Gold Pieces for Drinks. If you are not Teleporting, allow an additional 60 Gold Pieces for the Boat rides to Brimhaven and from Karamja. For maximum efficiency the Bars are listed below in a counterclockwise circle around Runescape, but you can visit them in any order at your leisure.

Speak to the Bartender in each Bar. If you are carrying your Barcrawl Card, one of your conversation Options will be "I'm doing the Alfred Grimhand Memorial Bar Crawl." Say this to the Bartender and he will sell you the specialty Drink only available during the Bar Crawl. [The sole exception to this is Blurberry of Blurberry's Bar, who may keep trying to hire you as a Gnome Bartender. In this case, Use your Barcrawl Card on him to get the proper conversation going.]

To check your progress on the Bar Crawl, Read your Barcrawl Card. Bars you have visited are shown in green; Bars you have not yet visited are shown in red. When you have visited all of the Bars, trying to read the Barcrawl Card will result in this Message, "You are too drunk to be able to read the Barcrawl Card." At this point you can take your Barcrawl Card back to the Barbarian Outpost, where the Barbarian Guard will collect it and allow you to enter. You will have free access to the Barbarian Outpost henceforth.

The Bar Crawl Drinks cause various amounts of minor Hit Point (HP) damage and Stat reductions. The effects are probably different for each Player - the effects listed below are provided only as examples and Your Mileage May Vary.
