Starting up the Vats.

Brewing is a new addition to RuneScape Cooking, which combines your knowledge of Farming and Cooking to produce Ales and Ciders to temporarily raise your Skills, or to just down on a hot day!

The first step to Brewing is knowing what you can or can't Brew. You will need a few Cooking Levels before you can begin Brewing, as this is an addition to Cooking.

Here is a Guide from the Official RuneScape Manual on Brewing.

The Fruits of the Earth.

Now, when you have decided to make a few Drinks with your Level, you need two main Ingredients that require the Farming Skill. You will need two Barley that need to be cooked on a Range to make Barley Malt. You will then need the main Ingredient to make your Ale. This differs depending on which Ale you want to make. In this Guide, I have chosen to make a Slayer's Respite, so the Ingredients I have will be shown for that.

A few more Ingredients.

When your done gathering the two main Ingredients, grab an empty Pot and 25 Gold Points, and 2 Buckets of Water. Then head up to either the Port Phasmatys Inn's Basement or Keldagrim's east Pub on the Second Floor. You will find a Person there, for Port Phasmatys, it is Metarialus and for Keldagrim it's Blandebir.

Kick it up a notch.

When you are there, talk to them and ask for an extra Pot of Ale Yeast. They will sell you one for 25 Gold Points each, fill your empty Pot with it.

Now that you have all four main Ingredients, it's time to add them. First, dump the two Buckets of Water in the large Vat. Then add the Barley Malt. Followed by your main Ingredient which will produce the type of Ale you want. Then follow up with the Pot of Ale Yeast, and it will state that the contents have begun to ferment. This is a LONG process that could take up to a whole day, so I recommend you go back to doing some Farming or raising other Skills while you wait.

Fruits of your labor.

After a day you will have the small Barrel filled with Ale. I will post how this is done tomorrow when my Slayer's Respite is finished! But I believe you will require a few Beer Glasses so go down a few while you wait and save the empty Glasses.

Also, for you higher Level Farmers, you can make Kegs of Beer (4 Pints) from the hollowed out Calquat Fruit. Use a Knife with it, and then use the hollowed Fruit on the Barrel I believe.
