~To Obtain your very own cuddly Kitty~ First off, you need to have completed Gertrude's Cat Quest before getting your very own Kitten. Unfortunately since I did the Quest already being I am a Legend Guild Member, I will get a Guide up for you guys soon, or you can submit one for me, since I’m busy smithing. To the best of my knowledge, when you receive your Kitten, there are seven different colors available. These are all random, so you may get five of the same color in a row! If you don't like your Kittens color, I recommend you choose the 'Shoo' Option when you click on your Kitten. He will run away, never to be seen again, doing this allows you get another Kitten from Gertrude for only 100Gold Pieces. The colors for the Kittens are:
~Are you ready for this?~ All right, now I will be strict on this -- Kittens can be tough to raise. Why? They constantly need Food, attention and most of all, LOVE! It will also have to spend about 2-6 Hours with you WHILE IT’S WALKING! NOT IN YOUR INVENTORY! This can be kind of hard, since after awhile, your Cat becomes "Bored" of walking and decides to jump into your Inventory. It seems too that the more you interact with your Kitten, it could GROW UP FASTER. Feeding may become a problem too, since you need Food most of the time (More on that later). Now you should also interact with your Kitty, just stroke it after a Meal or after Catching that Rat! Before you Get a Kitten make sure you have this at least:
~Raising Your Kitten~ OK, here comes the fun part. First, your Kitten should be in your Inventory. Drop it and it should appear on the ground. No, don't worry, it wont run away While walking, your Kitten may occasionally Meow. This is the Recommended, let me say that again, RECOMMENDED time to FEED IT! It seems to do better while catching Rats and/or staying with you if you do this. After feeding it, ALWAYS stroke it, this helps bring a close bond to your Kitten so it likes you more as a Cat. Do this often enough, and your cute little Kitty will become a Cat in no time! But remember, it depends on how long it stays OUTSIDE your Inventory, not INSIDE IT like in RSC (RuneScape Classic). If your Kitty Disappears, don't panic! It did NOT run away, unless you abused it. It’s just trying to hop into your Inventory, which takes at least 10-20 seconds. Your Kitten will just appear in the next available open slot in your Inventory, or under the Item of its original spot before you dropped it. Just move the Item to see your kitty then ~Go on Kitty...Kill that Rat!~ One of the more interesting things in RS2 is that your Kitten can chase small Level 2 Rats. These Rats are the ones you CAN’T see on your Compass/Radar. If you see one, drop your Kitten from your Inventory and get close to the Rat, but not to close or else if your Kitten fails, the Rat will ATTACK YOU! Which is quite funny, since a Level 2 Rat wants to kill you! Now, once you're close to your Kitten’s Prey, right click on your Kitten and select the 'Chase Vermin (or Rat/Mouse like creature if you don't know what that means)' Option. Your Character should say "Go on Kitty ...Kill that Rat!", your Kitten meows and the Rat squeaks for its little life as your Kitten attempts to Pounce on it. --If your Kitten doesn't catch the Rat-- Awwww... Don't worry kitty, we will get him next time! Just keep trying, it is hard at first, but it gets simpler as you do it more. Also if you fail and you are standing near the Rat, it will attack you. I would recommend NOT having auto-retaliate on, so you don't kill the Rat and you can have your Kitten Re-Attack it for you. --If your Kitten does catch the Rat-- Congratulations! Your Kitten gobbles up the Rat and Meows for a job well done. You may continue chasing Rats until you're done. If you want a present, catch 100 Rats, you receive a special Amulet for this shaped as a Fish on a String. ![]() ~Cats, Overgrown Cats and Kittens again? OH MY!~ Once you have successfully Grown-Up your Kitten, it becomes what you waited for, a Cat! Cats are much easier to deal with. Why? No feeding! This does take some of the fun out of caring for it, but you can still do everything else with your Cat! Overgrown Cats, the Chubby little stuffed Cats are actually kind of embarrassing to have. You overfed your Cat completely by having it eat too much, not too good on a Health Test I’m afraid, and this Cat REFUSES to eat more. Oh well. To get, just feed your Cat a lot of Mice, Food or *let it walk for two hours while playing with it occasionally* If you get sick of your Cat, you have three Options to get a New Kitten.:
