Pest Control is located on a remote island. It is home to the Void Knights, who are a group of warriors who worship Guthix. In this Minigame, you have to help the Void Knight fend off the evil Monsters. To win this Minigame, you will have to destroy all four of the Portals, which have 250 Hitpoints each, while being attacked by tons of Monsters ranging from Level 21-157. But there is a catch; you must also protect the Void Knight in the middle of the map from being killed. You can View his Hitpoints, along with the Portals' Hitpoints, throughout the course of the game.

The requirement for this Minigame is Level 40 Combat. To use the points rewarded for victories you must have at least Level 25 in the Skill. Other than that, you are good to go.

Some people may ask, "What happens if I die in this Minigame?" Well the answer is simple; you will simply respawn back at the Lander you took to get to the Island with the Monsters and Portals. You won't lose any items as this is a safe Minigame.

Playing the Game

Here is a map of both Islands:

The upper Island is where you land after you take the Boat from Port Sarim. As you may notice, there are a few shops such as: an Archery Shop, a General Store, a Magic Shop, an Anvil, and a Bank. After making your way to the Boat at the southern most part of the Island, you will be transported across the Ocean to another Island to help the Void Knight defeat the Portals and Monsters.

While waiting for the correct amount of players to board the Lander or for the Lander to leave, you can see the status of the Boat and how many points you have collected.

After the Lander arrives, you will be dropped off here:

Now you must choose whether you want to defend the Void Knight or attack the remaining Portals. If you have chosen to defend you will be attacked by Monsters who are trying to kill the Void Knight. If you want to attack, then it is your responsibility to attack all of the Portals that are still remaining.

This is the Void Knight, who you will be defending while the other players destroy the portals.

When defending the Void Knight keep in mind to watch out for ranged Attacks. The Torchers can do a lot of damage, so be sure to kill them. The Void Knight only has 200 Hitpoints and dies pretty quickly when there are eight or more Monsters attacking, so make sure to kill them as quickly as possible. When a Portal is destroyed the Void Knight is healed sixty Hitpoints. You will lose this Minigame if the Void Knight dies.

These icons are located in the top left corner of the screen. If you would like to check the Void Knight's health, look to the right of the Void Knight icon. If you would like to see how much damage you have done so far, look to the right of the sword icon.

In the top right corner of the screen, you can see the Portals' remaining Hitpoints. If your Icons look like the ones above, that means the Portals are still remaining. If they look like the ones below, that means that they have been destroyed.

Portal locations
Purple Western part of the map
White Eastern part of the map.
Yellow Southwestern part of the map.
Pink Southeastern part of the map.

Above, you can see what a Portal looks like. You must attack the Portal until it is destroyed and the area looks like the image shown below.

When destroying the Portals, make sure you also kill the Spinners, as they have the ability to heal the Portals. You won't have to worry about any other Monster besides the Spinners. Portals are pretty strong, but can be destroyed quickly when attacked by a large group. Portals can also take special damage like a normal Monster.

If you would like to receive a Void Knight Commendation Point, you must deal at least fifty damage throughout the course of the game. If you fail to do so, you will not receive any points.

If you are unsure about whether or not you did enough damage, you will always receive a message after a game. If you receive the message above, it means you did enough damage and have earned a point. If you get the one below, you did not.

When you would like to use the points you have collected, go to the Void Knight and exchange the points for Armour, Herbs, Farming materials or Experience in any of the following Skills: Attack, Strength, Defence, Prayer, Magic, Ranged or Hitpoints. If, for a single skill, you exchange 100 points at a time, you will gain more Experience per point than you would exchanging 100 points individually.
