Firstly, the Prayer Books are obtained upon Completion of the Horrors From the Deep Quest. You receive a Rusty Casket, which you take to Jossik. He will ask you what name is on the Box, and you can choose Guthix, Zamorak, or Saradomin. You will be asked to confirm your choice. After that, he will give you the Incomplete Book from the god you chose. Guthix is Green, Zamorak is Red, and Saradomin is White. Until you complete your first Book, you cannot get any others.

Incomplete Books add +5 to Prayer Equipment Status, and are wielded in the Shield slot.

To Complete the Book, you need to find four Pages of your respective god's Book. These are obtained through Clue Scrolls (any level). Each Page is numbered one through four and has your god's Color on it. Again; Guthix is Green, Zamorak is Red/Pink, and Saradomin is White.

Once you have all four Pages, Use them with your Book. Your Book becomes Renamed to Book of Balance for Guthix, Holy Book for Saradomin, and Unholy Book for Zamorak. Guthix's Book may be used with Holy or Unholy Symbols to Bless them. Saradomin's may only Bless Holy Symbols, and Zamorak's may only Bless Unholy Symbols. This definitely saves us a lot of time running to the Monks.

In addition to that, your Book gains a new Option: Preach. Preach allows you to Recite Passages.

When Reading the last line of a Passage, your Character holds open the Book that you are reading and holds up the Weapon you are wielding high into the air.

Complete Books give more Stat Bonuses than Incomplete Books, in addition to the +5 Prayer.

Saradomin's Holy Book gives: +8 Slash/Stab/Crush Defense, +8 Magic Defense, and +8 Range Defense.

Guthix's Book of Balance gives: +4 Slash/Stab/Crush Attack, +4 Magic Attack, +4 Range Attack, +4 Slash/Stab/Crush Defense, +4 Magic Defense, and +4 Range Defense.

Zamorak's Unholy Book gives: +8 Slash/Stab/Crush Attack, +8 Magic Attack, and +8 Range Attack.

Finally, after you complete your first Book, you may return to Jossik to buy a second Book for 5,000 Gold Pieces. After you complete that one, you can buy the last Book.
